Rapid Response Grant Snapshots

In August, as schools developed plans to reopen, the Foundation’s board allocated a portion of the grant budget to offer a new program – Rapid Response Grants – to help teachers address needs that arose from the pandemic.

Thirty-seven projects were funded in the first seven days! As the name suggests, funds were distributed quickly, and teachers put resources to use almost immediately. Resources like clip-boards for outdoor classes, white boards for virtual learning, camera stands and microphones for recording lessons and instrument bell covers for student musicians are just a few examples of items purchased.

While we had hoped to offer additional Rapid Response rounds, available funding was exhausted in the first week. We plan to offer two traditional grant cycles in 2021 with the first set to open in mid February.
