Any teacher, counselor or administrator working in Lafayette School Corporation, Tippecanoe School Corporation or West Lafayette Community School Corporation is eligible for our Seeds for Excellence grant program.

The fall 2024 cycle is now CLOSED. We will announce our recipients in mid November, and project implementation will take place in the second semester of the school year. Our next cycle will open in February 2025 with an award date in early May. The spring proposals will be for projects with an implementation date during the 2025-26 SY.

Below is some general information about the Seeds for Excellence grant program. Be sure to carefully read the information, including the guidelines and rubric (links below):

  • Applications must be submitted online.
  • Reading the GRANT GUIDELINES is an important first step. Please be sure to read the guidelines carefully. Guidelines can be printed below and are also included as Page 1 of the application. Be sure to submit an application that makes no mention of your name, the name of your school(s) or school corporation, other than on the first page of your submission. Proposals that fail to follow this guideline will be disqualified.
  • Please read through the Grant Evaluation Rubric before you submit your proposal.
  • It is a good idea to compose your narrative in Word, then copy and paste it into the application.
  • Please note that our program is open to teachers in three school corporations, and purchasing rules and policies differ between the corporations. Some have made recent changes to reimbursement policies. Please check with your corporation business office about purchasing online (for example from Amazon) as you are building your budget and especially if your project involves very specific materials from particular vendors.

We have added a "save and finish later" feature to the application. Note you will be required to save (or have the system email to you) the URL to your individual application. The Foundation will not be able to provide this link, and if you misplace the information, you'll have to start a new application. EACH TIME YOU EXIT AND SAVE YOUR APPLICATION, A NEW URL WILL BE CREATED, SO YOU'LL NEED TO COPY AND SAVE THE INFORMATION EACH TIME. IF YOU HAVE THE SYSTEM SEND YOU AN EMAIL WITH THE LINK, BE SURE TO SELECT THE MOST RECENT EMAIL TO RETURN TO YOUR SAVED APPLICATION.
