Public Schools Foundation seeks new executive director as Christine Isbell prepares to retire

The search is underway for a leader to continue the foundation’s work and expand its impact on public education.

After more than two decades of connecting community support with opportunities for local students and teachers, Christine Isbell is retiring as executive director of the Public Schools Foundation of Tippecanoe County. Now, the foundation is looking for someone to carry that work forward.

The foundation’s board of directors is now accepting applications for the executive director position. The organization is looking for a community-minded leader who can build relationships with schools, educators, businesses, donors and community partners while advancing the foundation’s mission. “The Public Schools Foundation is an important partner in strengthening our public schools by providing grants that help teachers bring new ideas to life,” says TSC Superintendent Dr. Scott Hanback. “The executive director plays an important role in building community partnerships and connecting resources to support our students and teachers.”

“Christine has helped build a strong foundation for supporting public education in Tippecanoe County, and we’re grateful for her many years of leadership,” says Brady Kalb, vice president of the Public Schools Foundation of Tippecanoe County and leader of the search committee. “We’re looking for someone who shares that commitment to students and teachers and can continue to grow the foundation’s impact and create even more opportunities for our schools.”

Throughout her tenure, Isbell has helped the foundation evolve to meet the changing needs of educators and students while building strong connections throughout the community.

“I’m most proud that I’ve been able to use my position with the foundation to shine a light on the remarkable activities and experiences happening every day in Tippecanoe County’s public schools,” Isbell says. “For many families, their experience with our schools understandably focuses on their own child, classroom or school. I’ve had the privilege of helping tell the bigger story: Our community is filled with dedicated, creative teachers who work every day to create meaningful and memorable learning experiences for all students.”

Isbell’s retirement is effective December 31. She says the timing is right for her to step away from the foundation and spend more time with her family.

“My husband and I are thrilled to be welcoming twin grandsons in early 2027, bringing our total number of grandchildren to nine,” Isbell says. “With our family entering this wonderfully full season of life, the time feels right for me to step away and have more time to enjoy the people and the moments that matter most.”

The Public Schools Foundation of Tippecanoe County has supported public education in the community since 1985, providing resources and opportunities that enrich the educational experience for local students and teachers.
